At the Speed of Light
Haven Lake Animal Hospital is equipped with the technology and training necessary to provide Class IV therapeutic laser services. Laser therapy is an emerging medical and veterinary modality that uses infrared light to induce a biological response in the cells known as photobiomodulation. This application of laser technology has been clinically proven to reduce pain and inflammation as well as accelerate healing.
This surgery-free, drug-free, noninvasive treatment is commonly used to treat the following acute and chronic conditions:
- Sprains, strains, and fractures
- Post-surgical pain
- Lick granuloma
- Degenerative Myelopathy
The procedure focuses infrared light on the affected area, which penetrates deep into your pet’s tissue and stimulates cellular regeneration without damaging the tissue or surrounding area. The laser treatment is delivered externally, through a noninvasive hand-piece. Typically, your pet will feel nothing more than a gentle and soothing warmth in the affected area. Each therapeutic session and its specifics are unique to the individual patient and condition, but generally most treatments take only a matter of minutes.
We encourage you to consult with your veterinarian and discuss any questions you may have regarding laser therapy as a treatment option for your pet’s condition. You are also welcome to contact us with any general questions or to schedule a consultation or appointment. As each case is condition-specific in its complexity and time, prices for this procedure will vary accordingly.
